Refilling the shelves in Eastern NC
Guest blog post by: All About Books
We know the impact of a book in the life of a child and their family.
Recent hurricanes impacted many Reach Out and Read Carolinas families and providers. Some families lost their homes and belongings and some medical clinics lost their buildings and everything in them.
At All About our mission to help literacy programs bring books to children and help fill the shelves — in homes and in partner medical clinics — across the United States. We’re giving back to twelve NC Reach Out and Read sites through a donation of 8,500 books (totaling $53,000).
Our goal is to help families rebuild their home libraries and continue to make moments together, and re-fill the shelves of the impacted clinics so they return to using the book as a tool to engage with families at well-child visits.
