Reach Out & Read Carolinas Trained Medical Providers

Reach Out and Read Carolinas plays a critical role in the lives of young children and their families. We support bonding, early brain development, and a love of learning.

  • We focus on positive impacts for families and communities through a two-generational lens.
  • We understand the social determinants of health and their impacts on the lives of the children and families in our community.
  • We support and build strengths and skills in parents to have healthy families and strong communities.

Our evidence base of 15 peer-reviewed research studies shows that during the preschool years, children served by Reach Out and Read score three to six months ahead of their non-ROR peers on vocabulary tests. These early foundational language skills help propel children on a path of success when they enter school.

A Happy Ending

“Reach Out and Read Carolinas is foundational to supporting and engaging parents in the development of healthy minds and bodies for children. Reach Out and Read Carolinas sets the bar for fidelity to an evidence-based model with continued evaluation and measurement of impacts for children and families served.”
