Reach Out & Read Carolinas Trained Medical Providers
Reach Out and Read Carolinas plays a critical role in the lives of young children and their families. It supports bonding, early brain development, and a love of learning. At every interaction with families, ROR is committed to ensuring the intervention is moving from transactional to transformational, and we are doing this together – as social impact partners.
- We focus on positive impacts for families and communities through a two-generational lens.
- We understand the social determinants of health and their impacts on the lives of the children and families in our community.
- We support and build strengths and skills in parents to have healthy families and strong communities.
Our evidence base of 15 peer-reviewed research studies shows that during the preschool years, children served by Reach Out and Read score three to six months ahead of their non-ROR peers on vocabulary tests. These early foundational language skills help propel children on a path of success when they enter school.
