2023 Impact Report

Reach Out and Read Carolinas plays a critical role in the lives of young children and their families. We support bonding, early brain development, and a love of learning.

We focus on positive impacts for families and communities through a two-generational lens.
We understand the social determinants of health and their impacts on the lives of the children and families in our community.
We support and build strengths and skills in parents to have healthy families and strong communities.

Our evidence base of 15 peer-reviewed research studies shows that during the preschool years, children served by Reach Out and Read score three to six months ahead of their non-ROR peers on vocabulary tests. These early foundational language skills help propel children on a path of success when they enter school.

A Happy Ending

Help Me Grow SC partners with Reach Out and Read Carolinas in a unique bookmark project designed to equip parents with knowledge of key developmental milestones. Given to parents when the child receives a book, the bookmark is a great teaching tool. Our partnership in promoting children’s healthy development provides strong two-generational wrap-around support for families in South Carolina.
