The Right Book Makes All the Difference
Guest post by: All About Books
When it comes to promoting literacy and its developmental advantages for all children, two issues man the forefront: access and structure. Reach Out and Read has not only provided millions of children with free books, but they’ve developed an excellent framework for early literacy development, ensuring each child receives a book appropriate to their developmental needs and capabilities. It cannot be implemented, however, without book vendors who understand and privilege this framework.
All About Books’ expert curators are dedicated to providing Reach Out and Read programs with titles that are age-appropriate, inclusive, and relevant to young children’s lives. Our small, collaborative sales team personally analyzes our catalog and website collection for titles that showcase important themes such as socioemotional concepts, diverse family models, and children with disabilities (just to name a few). Coordinators need only to tell us their providers’ needs — we take care of the rest.
We at AAB have a very strong partnership with Reach Out and Read Carolinas and are proud to be a part of their 20 years of incredible work. We look forward to many more years helping them support early literacy, family bonding, brain development, and more for children across the Carolinas!
Come learn more about our team and curation process at the Reach out and Read Carolinas Regional Summit, on May 3rd in Charlotte at the Harris Conference Center.
